Rag Doll

A short horror story in poem/lyric form.

Woke up one day,

Quit the job,

Walked to the bar,

Settled in for the day.

Dreams hitting fast,

Hardly moving forward,

Intense emotions undeserved,

Mirrors exploding from past.

Feeling stich in hand,

Exposed to grit’n’sand,

Feeling stich in hand,

Exposed to grit’n’sand.

Exposed to society,

Ripped apart carpet floor,

Running masquerade,

Driving us to insanity.

Thread and silk,

Wrapping while mummifying,

The dead inside,

Skin white as milk.

Feeling stich in hand,

Exposed to grit’n’sand,

Feeling stich in hand,

Exposed to grit’n’sand.

Feeling stich in hand,

Exposed to grit’n’sand,

The dead walk,

White as chalk.

Swallowing living dead,

Enjoying living sin,

Dreaming ever eternal eternity,

Into existence from bed.

Woke up, just a dream,

Woke up, just a memory,

Woke up, just a reality,

Woke up, where I’ve been.

A rag doll I sit on the shelf, watching my life through the eye’s mirror. Waiting for the actor to move, like a puppet. I sit back pulling his strings. My ever innocent buddy. Doing my bidding. Shadows hiding. Eyes always watching.
