Some things I did positive in my life last week.
I bought a few upgrades to the house.
I started perfecting a part of a composition I am working on completing.
I did part or all of the dishes every day.
I did part or all of the laundry every day.
I am embarrassed this is an accomplishment, those who understand mental health will get it though. I took showers.
I ate at least one meal a day.
I excercised.
I went out in public.
I went out into the sun.
I made a few life decisions.
I actively worked on my responses during times of crisis.
I learned a lot about human biology.
I learned a lot about astronomy.
I learned a lot about differing religions.
I learned about nationalism.
I learned about the constitution.
I learned about local laws, other state laws, and federal laws.
I wrote in my blog.
I started creating a character for a small personal comic strip.
I made the bed with newly purchased and laundered bedding.
I brushed the dogs.
I fed and watered the dogs everyday.
I gave the dogs extra affection, which is hard for me.
I spoke to at least 12 people, 3 in person, 4 over the telephone, the others over online games.
I helped a friend grieve a pet.
I am working through the grief of losing my brother in law.
I am learning about my medical diagnosis.
I am learning about my mental health diagnosis.
I am going to all my doctor appointments.
I am listening to my telehealth nurse and sending in my readings everyday.
I help my girlfriend, with her medical issues everyday.
I balanced the check book.
I bought groceries.
I got my car inspected.
I registered my vehichle.
I made dinner a lot.
I treated my girlfriend to pizza and chicken.
I mowed the lawn.
I took out the garbage.
I helped a few online friends with emotional issues.
I did a good job.
It was very difficult to write these without minimizing my efforts, using modesty as a shield that I am unworthy to be appreciated, even by my own self. Thank you for listening to me brag, in turn I hope it motivates you to try and write a list of your accomplishments without minimizing them.
…it sounds like a very productive week. Congratulations.

I am always amazed when the greater spirit that has my back is on perfect timing to get me the exact message I need to hear, in this case read. I forget how much capability I have even in living with a mental health disability that has affected some major parts of my life. I can’t work full time and that hinders my ability to do things that most people take for granted. Like taking an impromptu road trip for the day, it is one of my most enjoyable things to do because it breaks up the monotony of every day life. It has been 2 years since I’ve been able to afford the gas to road trip and that has paved a wider path for the depression side of my illness to be the stronger power. It’s led me to believe that I am different now because I can’t do my favorite thing, and left me feeling broken and depleted as a human. Reading your post is a huge help because I am the one taking things for granted obviously. I get up everyday and walk my dogs, I shower, I eat, I write in the book I am creating, I journal, I play with my grandson, I do our dishes and I read a few pages of the book I’ve chose for this month. I have so many things that I still do on a regular schedule just like others. It’s refreshing to be reminded that my disability does not define me, and that I am still alive and participating in this life I have. I am easily overcome with the woes of living with a mental health illness and believing that the world is circling around me while I am missing out on all it has to offer. This post has helped me see that I unintentionally put my own barriers up in my pursuit of a full and joyous life. While yes, going on road trips may be my favorite thing, there are so many other things that I do that also bring me joy and lead to a more fulfilling life experience while living with a mental health disorder. This has reminded me that perspective, thought process and emotional intelligence are key factors in determining how well or how poorly I am doing living with this disability. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! 💜

Thank you, it is a struggle to live with mental health. The last great road trip I took was 8 years ago, it wasn’t planned yet it brought great change, good change. I hope you have many years enjoying your grandchildren.
