CBT Group Ending Summary

Today marks the end of the 8 week CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) group I was attending. I will miss the group, it was an online group and different than any other group I’ve attended.

I’ve led groups in all sorts of places, AA meetings, hospital wards, clinics, and meeting rooms. The best groups are always the ones people participate in. Groups without participation have a way of making those who talk feel they are taking over the group, and others who don’t talk may or may not soak up enough of the material to help them change the reason they are in the group.

The last lesson was about guided grounding, it was so relaxing. Having someone paint an image for us to imagine, using it as a relaxation and stress relief tool. It has inspired me to research this topic, and I hope to have more to report in the coming weeks.
