Act V The Resolution

An introspective look at the final chapter of Internal Geography by Eric Fournier and how this is one of the situations that helped formulate the chapter of resolution.

I’ve been contemplating life a lot in the last two months. Well, for the last decade, but these last two months have been a growth spurt. I used to be so angry about things that felt like personal insults that I have come to believe were really symptoms of the institution not knowing how to come to terms with putting a sailor into positions above his paygrade and training. I rose to the occasion, and I helped the unit perform its mission, so the bigger take away, my small part led to us all being able to perform our mission better. Reframing the issue into a we problem instead of a me problem. I took the power away from the side of my brain that felt insecure and selfish.
