I don’t remember where this was, it was so long ago. Our ship USS ANZIO CG-68 had docked for a Liberty Port during OIF/OEF and we drove past these beautiful orange groves on the way to the city. We walked around the town square, explored the large cathedral and then as we wandered looking for a taxi we found a sign for a restaurant in the basement of this building. We enjoyed white wine oysters, shrimp, and scallops over linguini and calamari and a pitcher of white wine. It was a great relief and joy to share that meal with my shipmates. It was a difficult deployment.
