I was talking to my grandfather in his 90s yesterday and he gave me some advice. I’m struggling to do what he told me is the best way to live one’s life. I’m sure I can do it in time, though I feel I want to hurry in the end. My reasonings are maybe foolish, I feel to be the man I want to be, I should focus on being, the tough man, the man who is unwavering, courageous and protective, the man who is stoic. the advice he gave, simple enough, always look forward, find a dream and make that your priority and you will find happiness in striving for it. A complete 180 to how I’ve lived. A depression bubble has surrounded me, the advice so simple, I have even thought of it, tried it and failed. Always slipping into the wounds of the past. I need a dream, currently I am absent of a solid dream. There are not goals that come to mind. I am comfortable in my situation and home. The only dreams that float around are home improvements, yet those feel empty. I wish to be able to contribute to the world as I did in my youth. I need to journal this more privately, I hope the advice here helps motivate other readers.
