Sticky Wishes

The wish that stuck, hard against the cake, stuck to sweet plate, spooned by fork, cut with knife, flayed about by, great white chompers, molars and teeth, grinding it to a pulp, to wash and fizzle, until next year, when again I try to catch the wish.
